Rhuddlan Castle from the Road
Rhuddlan Castle stands above a bend in the River Clwyd in North Wales, with its twin gatehouse towers and stone walls dominating the skyline. Approaching along the road, you get a perfect view of its rounded towers framed by the green banks and wide skies — the moment that inspired this artwork.
About this artwork I photographed this view during a visit to Rhuddlan, then transformed my original photo into a hand-finished, vintage travel-poster style illustration. The design keeps the bold shapes of the towers, the sweep of the grassy embankments, and the calm curve of the river.
Why this scene works as a print - Iconic round towers instantly recognisable from a distance - River and banks naturally lead the eye toward the castle - Soft blues and greens suit many interior styles
Visiting Rhuddlan The castle is set within the Vale of Clwyd with open views and level riverside paths. Paths can be muddy after rain, and weather changes quickly, so bring suitable footwear and clothing. For opening details or access information, check official sources before travelling.
